ComfortHome is owned by Energy Information Center, Inc. EIC was formed as a response to our nation's energy crises in the 1970s and early 80s to take a closer look at how energy was used in residential homes. In 1989, EIC, Inc. formed ComfortHome and eventually rebranded as EIC|ComfortHome.

Does the ComfortHome program require the use of any other manufacturer's products?

Because we report to no one but you, our focus is only on energy efficiency and performance. We're no tied to specific products and brands, and we don't believe in pre-conceived, off-the-shelf solutions. That's why ComfortHome always delivers professional and objective advice tailored to what you need, not what someone is trying to sell.

We value your business, we earn it, and we stay right with you throughout the process.

What is the difference between the ComfortHome program and the ComfortHome Certified Green program?

The ComfortHome Program is a nationally-recognized, new home construction program designed to assist builders in constructing and marketing homes that offer superior energy savings and comfort levels.

There are now more than 120,000 homes across the United States that have been constructed by builders under the ComfortHome program. The program starts with a pre-construction plan review of your builder's plans that carefully evaluates the selection of all building components to maximize the economic energy and environmental performance of your new home, and provides the information necessary to make energy smart choices.

The ComfortHome Certified Green program adds even more benefits in areas such as environmental lot design, building resource efficiency, indoor air quality, and global impact.
