Our Core Capabilities include:
ComfortHome's mechanical engineering group reviews house plans pre-construction for specification writing, program integration, energy code compliance, tax credit compliance, MEP Plan integration, and any design inefficiencies.
Our engineers design HVAC systems based on nationally accepted Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Manuals. ComfortHome completes residential HVAC Loads utilizing Manual J calculations, determines HVAC mechanical equipment sizing to ensure perfect delivery of Comfort, Air Quality, and Efficiency, and Manual D to design Air Flow and Duct sizing.
ComfortHome can increase the home performance and reduce overall building costs through utilization of performance trade-offs and materials selections.
By consulting with ComfortHome early in the design phase, we can draft your home with the MEP Plans correctly sized to perform and function, to avoid the often disintegrated mechanical, electric, and plumbing plans.
ComfortHome will even research and provide a quote for the average MEP material cost to the builder. This eliminates "estimates" from separate mechanical, electrical and plumbing contractors and helps reduce design corrections and save on material cost.
Consulting with ComfortHome can significantly improve overall building efficiency and cost while reducing construction defects like air infiltration, shell tightness, and bulk water control issues.
ComfortHome air seals homes in two phases to ensure proper sealing of all penetrations, ductwork tightness, proper air flow, and proper insulation.
After the building process is complete, ComfortHome uses in-depth performance testing to verify the home's tightness, ductwork integrity, and HVAC performance to manufacturer's standards.
The results from the performance testing produces quantifiable results, and quantifiable energy savings—all of which can be used to verify compliance to many utility energy efficiency programs that offer rebates for efficient homes, and for tax credits from federally-funded programs.
